August 7 : Town Tours & Village Walks of Chester County at Historic Yellow Springs
Theme:  Chester Spring Soldier's Orphan School Hours: 6-8pm

Step back to a time just after the Civil War and learn how the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania established schools for orphaned and needy children due to the casualties of war.  Meet Eleanor Moore the first women principal in Pennsylvania, several of her charges, a teacher and a Union Army veteran and member of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). The tour will include the grand opening of Historic Yellow Springs's new Orientation Exhibit. The Victorian Dance Ensemble will be on hand to demonstrate the clothing, manners and dances of the mid-late 19th century.
