This special program is a commemoration and celebration of the anniversary of George Washington’s visit to the village of Yellow Springs on September 17, 1777 and the Yellow Springs Hospital of the American Revolution.

All activities are from 1:00 to 4:00 PM:

-Visit with General George Washington
-Encounter soldiers from the Continental Army and women who assisted
-Learn about Colonial medicines and herbal remedies with historian Nancy Webster
-Discover how sick and wounded soldiers were cared for by medical re-enactor Marjy Wienkop
-Play with Colonial games and toys in the Village Green
-Write your name with a quill pen; read General Washington’s letter from Yellow Springs
-Listen to the songs of the Colonial Revelers as they stroll through Yellow Springs
-Sample a tasty treat at Peterson’s Pantry; see examples of Colonial goods and wares
-Stroll through the Herb Garden and Hospital ruins; imagine what it would be like in 1777
-Explore the “Lure of the Springs” exhibit in the Brick Room of the Washington Building
