Online class with specific focus on major drawing techniques that were developed during the Renaissance. Techniques include a trois crayons, a drawing technique developed in seventeenth-century in which you use sanguine, black and white contes. By using a limited palette of these easily distinguished colors on toned paper an artist may create a powerful image with clear qualities of value, color and shape. Class initiates with demonstration by Adrian Martinez who will illustrate the variety of character and fluidity of line possible with simple drawing tools. Students may draw from still life, master drawing or photo as subject. Material list is provided.
