Elderhostel, a non-profit educational organization founded in 1975, offers high quality, affordable short-term academic programs for older adults hosted by educational and cultural institutions around the world.

Come enjoy beautiful, historic southeastern Pennsylvania with Historic Yellow Springs as your Elderhostel host. Our programs highlight the unique offerings of the southeastern Pennsylvania countryside, including:

  • Longwood Gardens in Chester County
  • James A. Michener Art Museum in Bucks County
  • Hopewell Village National Historic Site in Berks County
  • Ephrata Cloister in Lancaster County.

Elderhostel programs at Yellow Springs are scheduled from March through June and September through November. They usually run six days and five nights.

Here is a sample schedule:

Sunday afternoon: Arrive at hotel
Monday: Tour and lecture at Historic Yellow Springs
Tuesday: Motorcoach fieldtrip to Brandywine River Museum and Longwood Gardens
Wednesday: Classroom lectures in the morning, free time in the afternoon, evening program and dinner at Vickers Tavern
Thursday: Motorcoach fieldtrip to Brandywine Battlefield and Winterthur Museum and Gardens
Friday: Classroom lecture in the morning
Other courses include "Bucks County Artists," "Rural Communities," and "Mansions along the Delaware."

We occasionally offer joint programs with other Elderhostel programs in the area as well as short programs lasting four days and three nights.
