Historic Yellow Springs, the Chester Springs Library and West Pikeland Township join together to welcome you to the 2013 HOLIDAY STROLL in our village of Yellow Springs.  Join your friends and neighbors for an evening of holiday cheer on Friday evening, December 6, from 6 – 8:30 p.m.  You will enjoy the sights and the lights as well as the glitter and the sounds of the holiday season.  It is fun for all!

The evening begins at 6 p.m. in the West Pikeland CULTURAL CENTER with the Downing Hills Christian Fellowship Church providing refreshments along with children’s games and crafts all evening.  Everyone is invited to join in the carol singing.

Continue down Art School Road to THE WASHINGTON where our special guest will drop in at 6:30 p.m. for visits with all the children.  And, you know that guest as SANTA CLAUS!!  As he has done for over 40 years, Santa will be ready to listen to all those “loooong” lists of holiday wishes.  So boys and girls, come prepared and be on your best behavior as you know Santa keeps a list, too!  We welcome his hearty HO! HO! HO! and gifts for the kiddies.  Don’t forget to get your picture taken with Santa!

The LINCOLN BUILDING will be decorated in all its holiday finery and open this evening.  We thank the WHITFORD HILLS GARDEN CLUB for its wonderful decorating each year to put our village in the holiday spirit.  The Mugs for All Seasons Show and the Yellow Springs Art Show Poster Exhibition will be open for your viewing and for sales in the downstairs galleries.  Upstairs we are presenting Beyond the Branches:  A Collection of Wood-Fired Ceramics.  Plan to do some holiday shopping this evening as well.

The CHESTER SPRINGS LIBRARY will be open and plan to stop by at 7:30 p.m. for the Holiday Story Time.  It is a great way to sit down and enjoy stories of the season as part of this evening full of fun and spirit.

Our evening ends back at the West Pikeland CULTURAL CENTER for a great program at 8 p.m.  Come and hear the award winning music program “MAKIN’ MUSIC”.

This program of rockin’ rhythms is a music program for young families but no matter how old you are, Jody Weaver and Chris McCord guarantee a toe tappin’, hand clappin’, knee slappin’ good time.  Come and join in the singing of holiday songs Makin’ Music style!  Check out their website at www.makinmusic.com.

Please join us in thanking all our volunteers for helping to make this evening special for us.  We especially thank Volunteer Coordinator John Shaw for his support to this and all events at HYS.
