Chester Springs Studio is raising funds for a new, much-needed wood kiln. As the only public wood kiln in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the wood kiln provides unique and natural surfaces in the firing process. Our wood kiln is available for use by ceramic students and visiting artists. If you've ever taken a ceramics class at HYS you know how important the wood kiln is to the quality of work that is created at the Studio. With four communal wood firings each year, the wood kiln plays an important role, connecting beginning and professional artists year-round in our nearly 300-year old village. Your support will help us replace our 30 year old kiln with a new, state-of-the-art wood kiln.
