Art Classes for Children, Families and Teens
Welcome to “Creativity Abounds All Year Round at Yellow Springs”. Art classes are available in Clay, Drawing, Painting and more. Classes are small for individual attention and encouragement by our professional artists and art education instructors. All materials and supplies are included in the tuition of each class. The Library is open until 6pm each day if you would like to wait for students in classes.

WEDNESDAYS
Beginning Sculpture
Ages: 13 to 16
Instructor: Carol Gannon

Using a variety of materials such as clay, wire, plaster, and found objects, we will explore contemporary and traditional approaches to sculpture.

Through the Wheel
Ages: 13 to 18

Introduce yourself to the ancient and honorable wheel. We will study pots made thousands of years ago and pots made yesterday. We’ll learn how to use the wheel and how to combine wheel thrown forms with hand built forms to make bowls, plates, mugs, teapots, vases and forms we have yet to invent.

Beginning Drawing

Students will learn basic skills and tools to aid in the mastering of structure, toning, blending, proportion, and perspective. We will focus on drawing objects realistically, with the goal of using these skills as a foundation for the student to express what they find beautiful or intrigues them about a subject.
